I believe The Word of God says what He means and means  what He says! As we study the Bible we must rightly divide  the word of truth. The dividing line is the Cross of Jesus. The Old Testament, with its letter of the law, killed; it made  no one perfect. The law was not given to make folk perfect, it was added because man sinned and disobeyed God. The ordinances, the sacrifice of animals, never took away sin, it only rolled it forward to be faced again and again, each year the same thing over and over! Does it seem like that is the story of your life? Get into Christ let Him live in you and you in Him! Quit looking at yourself, look at Jesus,  what is He like? That's what you are like!

When John the Baptist came along in the New Testament and said, "Behold The Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world," many thought he was crazy. Never had sin been taken away before. Some cannot believe it today. Sin to that point had never been taken away, only rolled forward year after year. The lambs of the old covenant were not capable of doing away with sin. They were a type of what was to come. But now, here was God's Lamb, His only begotten Son, born of the virgin Mary, born of the Holy Ghost, the word made flesh. On Him, God laid the sin of the whole world. From the cross Jesus cried, "It is finished."

Now there was a way man could know the Creator of this whole universe and all that is in it, as his Father! Before, there was no way, but Jesus made a way. Now  He says, "whosoever will, let him come and drink of the water of life freely." Have you been drinking?

Before Jesus' death, burial and resurrection, all that died under obedience to the law went to paradise. They could not go directly to heaven; sin cannot enter heaven. In the Old Testament they looked forward to the cross, we look back to the cross. It was to be finished; now it is finished! Since the Lamb of God had not paid the sin debt, those could not go to heaven. He went there and led those out and carried them with Him when He went to the Father. Now to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. He is not in the grave, He is not in paradise, He is at the right hand of The Father in heaven.

Some are trying to live under the old covenant. I have good news for you. We are not under the old covenant but rather we are under a new covenant, sealed by the Blood of The Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. The letter kills, but the spirit makes alive! The Spirit of God in us can purge our conscience from dead works to serve the living God in the beauty of true holiness. Let's let him do it! We are made holy and  righteous in Jesus Christ. The works of the law are dead, passed away. Now we are to worship God in Spirit and in truth.

Now we do not have to try to find a temple where the word of God is. The spirit of God has put it into our mind and written it on the tables of our heart. Jesus Christ is the Word of God and He is in our heart. He said, "I will be with you always." No wonder the scripture says that in Him we are complete. Glory to God!
