It seems to be so easy to major on what is wrong rather than what is right. The news media is a prime example of this. To them it seems only bad happenings make news.

A lifestyle that gets in a rut of seeing only the bad makes for a miserable life. Sad to say, many of God's children get like this. They always have a sad face. There is always something wrong. This may be and usually is with some one else. Some have a problem themselves and will share it with you at the drop of a hat. Being around these will not build you up.

We all go through some rough places in our life. Sickness and death are a part of this life here on earth. Storms of life happen to all of us. We face things we would rather not face.

I don't know about you but I don't want to stop and build a dwelling place there! We should desire to move on and get past these times and places. Walk with the Lord and He will guide us to a place of rejoicing.

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say rejoice.
Proverbs 15:15 He that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. (KJV)

The word rejoice appears 192 times and merry 28 times in the Bible. (KJV) I believe any thing that appears in the bible over 200 time should get our attention! It is for our benefit.

A merry heart and a spirit of rejoicing are God's medicine for troubled hearts and sad faces. A merry heart and rejoicing will be health to our flesh and spirit.

Notice we are to do it with an act of our will. God will help us but will not do it for us. As with most things of God it is our choice to make.

Let's not get into a lifestyle of griping and complaining. This is the very thing that kept Israel in the wilderness for 40 years and did not make it into Gods promises.

Rejoice and be merry. Be happy don't worry!
