God loves the sinners. This is what Jesus
came for, to save sinners. The church of the generation that Jesus came
to, the Pharisees, talked about Jesus for receiving sinners and eating
with them. They condemned Him for other things as well. The Pharisees wanted
to stone the woman, caught in the act of adultery, to death. Strange they
did not bring the man she was caught with; was he one of
them? Jesus didn't condone her sin; he
forgave her and told her to quit sinning. He is still that way today! Jesus
didn't come to condemn the world but that through Him the world could be
saved.
In the church of today there are still many Pharisees. To them, everybody but them is a sinner worthy of death. Only they and their group are right. They are always pointing their finger at others. These seem to forget God hates the pointing of the finger. We are to judge ourselves, not others. Let all of us who know the Lord get our eyes on Him and off others and their faults. Then and only then can we minister as He would! We must be patient and long-suffering, as he is, not willing that any should be lost.
Paul said "I am determined to know nothing among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified." Let us point folk to Jesus Christ and His finished work not our group our church, etc..
As ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ we are to have the ministry of reconciliation. If one falls and is overcome in a sin, backslides, should we not try to restore such a brother or sister, being very careful lest we get into the same sin or worse. If we condemn others then we are not ministers of the Gospel.
The prodigal son left his father's house and lived as the world. He squandered all he had, then, realizing what he had done, he returned to his father's house and his father ran to meet him; he did not reprimand him for leaving but rather welcomed him back to the family.
The son who stayed and kept working for the father was angry that the father did this. That is a Pharisee attitude. This one was not working for the father but rather for himself and he did not want to share with his brother. He should have been glad to see his brother return home.
There may be some of you who are reading this who have left God's house and lived in sin away from home. You may feel like there is no way you could come home. The Pharisees in God's house might not welcome you back, but those who love The Lord would welcome you back, with open arms! They would feed you and thank God for the opportunity. The Lord Himself would welcome you back.
Know the Lord considers you one of His. Jeremiah 3:14 tell us He is married to the backslider.
Return to The Fathers House! He left the ninety and nine to find one little lost lamb and here I am!
