The Blame Game
1
Tim 2:1-2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For
kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and
peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Psa 75:7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and
the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If
thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of
the finger, and speaking vanity;
I wonder why we are always, at first, doing things our way instead of
God's way? We get all upset with those who are in authority and instead
of praying for them we make all kind of hurtful remarks about them.
Even with those who say they are Christians we do the same. Have we
considered God is the one who puts one up and another down? Maybe we
should examine ourselves and see if God gave us the kind of ruler we
deserved? Consider this. Prov 16:7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. When we get the wrong kind of ruler is God showing us that we are not pleasing Him? Let's stop playing the blame game.
Instead of knocking, pointing the finger at those whom God has put in
authority we should be checking up on ourselves to see if we are
pleasing the Lord! It is neither my brother nor my sister but it's me
Oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer.
Here is the way to change a nation, an individual or ourselves. Remember when our ways please the Lord He gives us peace, even with our enemies. 2
Chr 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked
ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and
will heal their land. Notice it's not the world that is to change but those who are called Christians!
Do we desire the Lord's blessing on our nation and us? This tells us
exactly how it will happen. Get humble before God, we cannot do it but
He can. Began to pray and quit blaming others for our problems. Seek
the face of the Lord and that will cause us to lay aside every weight
and the sin that so easily besets us. Repent of all sin and let God
heal our land. Notice those in authority are not the problem. SIN IS.
Preachers, teachers, start preaching/teaching against sin in all its
forms. Call all to repentance. Tell your listeners to live holy Godly
lives in Jesus Christ. Tell them to follow peace with all men and
holiness without which no man shall see God. God forbids that we
continue in sin. He that practices sin is of the devil. Tell them to be
filled with the Holy Ghost so they can walk in the Spirit and not
fulfill the lusts of their flesh. (Maybe you need to set the example
before them, as well?) Don't try to please people, be a servant of God.
Wake up it is later than you think. Tell it like it is. Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Prov 14:34
Lord God, help us to do exactly
what You said do in 2 Chr 7:14. We have tried self-help, complaining
and every thing else but we have not turned wholly to You for
deliverance and victory. We have been guilty of looking to someone
other than You for what we need, have mercy on us, forgive us and heal
our land. We ask in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
