Job 23:10-12 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
Maybe you are going through a severe trial and it seems you will not survive. In most families I know, many are facing things that seem to be more than they can bear. Problems with marriages, homes, children, finances, sickness, diseases, death of loved ones and other problems. I believe that God is shaking every thing that can be shaken so that the unshakable will stand. Obedience to the commands of Jesus Christ will stand in every storm.
Do you sometimes feel like Job? You have tried to do the best you know how and things still seem to be going against you, almost more than you can bear? It got so bad with Job that he wished he had never been born. In spite of all he faced he kept his faith in God and refused to give up. What he didn't realize, at the time, was that God had a purpose for all this. The devil meant it for Job's defeat but God meant it for Job's good.
Beloved, God is always with and for His children. He is not a Father that deserts His own. Weeping may last for a night, maybe even a few nights, but joy comes in the morning. Don't try to understand everything; no one does at the time. Never give up your faith in God Almighty. He will turn your storm into a blessing for you, if you keep on doing what the word of God says. Job esteemed God’s word more than the food he must eat to live.
Do you want to be as pure gold in the sight of God? It comes through testing, trials and facing the storms of life with faith in God, that cannot be shaken. God told satan that Job was perfect. Satan thought if God removed His blessings from Job, that he would curse God and die. Satan was a liar; Job refused to turn from God. He was serving God because of who He is, not because of blessings. Why do we serve God?
Job 42:12-13 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters.
When Job passed the test, look what God did for him. The end of Job's life was more blessed than before. If we want to be more blessed just be true to our commitment to God and refuse to let anything cause us to doubt God. In the midst, of the storm, don't start accusing God of deserting and leaving you alone. He said He would be with us always, even till the end. “Trust and obey for there is no other way.” The end will be more blessed than the beginning.
