Many want the blessing of the Lord on their life. They want the abundant life promised by scripture. They want the hundred-fold return on what they give to the Lord. Most of us want to walk in divine health and always be on the so-called mountain top, rejoicing. We desire to know Him in the power of His resurrection. I suppose that most of us want this to be reality in our life. The question is are we willing to do our part for it to happen?
I wonder do we have a spirit like Paul? Do we want to know the Lord in every way possible? Are we seeking to know Him better and better? Do we want to know Him in the fellowship of His sufferings? Do we really want to know how Jesus felt in the garden when His sweat became as drops of blood? This was when He was presented the cup that contained the sin of us all. He who knew no sin was about to become a sin offering for us. For the first time in His life He was to know what it felt like to be a sinner separated from His Father.
From there He went to the judgment hall and was crowned with thorns, spit upon, slapped and His back torn open with many stripes. Hard words were heaped upon Him and He endured it all because you and I were guilty.
In humiliation and disgrace He went to a place called Golgotha and was nailed to a cross. One of the most horrible ways there is to die. From the cross, in all His agony, He cried “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” He also cried “Father why have you forsaken me.” He who had never been separated from His father was now separated because of your sin and mine. As He died he said, “It is finished.” The good news is that He didn't stay dead. He arose on the third and is alive at the right hand of the Father making intercession for all who believe in Him.
Beloved, the penalty for sin is death and we were all guilty. The sin of us all was laid on the Lamb of God and the price was paid so we could go free. The plan of salvation is completed and now whosoever will can come and receive eternal life. He didn't free us so we could continue in sin. God forbids that. If we are in Christ we are dead to sin, it has no authority over us. Anything that has no authority should not be allowed to rule us. Are we pressing forward to the mark of the high calling of God in Christ? Have we sat down thinking we have received all there is? Do we have the same spirit Paul had?
When we, in our spirit, have been through this suffering with our Lord and felt the effects of sin and saw the penalty being paid for sin, then we desire with our whole heart to leave sin alone. We also have a desire to tell everyone who will listen about Jesus Christ and Him crucified for every person. We weep over the lost and those who are sitting in churches being told they are all right, while still living in sin. The blind leading the blind. We know the reality of heaven but we also know the reality of the lake of fire where all those who are not in Christ will spend eternity.
The desire to witness is like a fire shut up in our bones and we will tell it to the last breath in our body. Some will get angry with us but that will not stop us. Some want their ears tickled and be told they are all right no matter what they do. We love the Lord and those created in His image. They were angry with Christ and all the disciples. They will be with us as well, if we tell it like it is.
Jesus came to take away the sin of the world not leave us in sin. 1 Pet 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? After Christ comes into our life we are not called sinners but rather saints. We are the body of Christ. He is not a sinner and neither are we.
Have you repented and received Christ into your life? Is He Lord of your life? Do you love the Lord and are you showing it by keeping His commandments? Please understand it’s not a matter of you will have a better life as a Christian. Make more money and receiving so-called blessing after blessing. You may, but some have this who is not in Christ. Beloved, it’s a matter of life or death, heaven or hell. With out Christ all will spend eternity burning in the lake of fire along with the devil and his followers. I weep over this and it’s the reason I minister to all that will hear. I care where you spend eternity.
Do we want to know Him in the power of His resurrection and in the fellowship of His suffering?
Holy Father, I pray that You will put a desire in all hearts to draw closer and closer to you. I pray that You will cause the sinners to repent and receive Christ as Lord and Savior. Heal the sick and supply every need. I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
