Bible Based Ministry

Tim 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works.
2 Tim 4:1-4 I charge thee
therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the
quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word;
be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not
endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to
themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away
their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
We are living in a time when many things are being preached to God's
people. Some preachers and teachers are specializing in various types
of ministry, like Doctors do. Some have a healing ministry, others a
prosperity or Word ministry. (I thought every true Preacher/Teacher was
a Word person.) You get the idea it has become much like a smorgasbord;
just choose what you like! I am not knocking any of those type
ministries just making a point.
Sad but many want to hear a message that always pats them on the back
and requires no repentance or change of lifestyle. I have heard this
remark, “just teach me happy.” I have learned it's possible to be happy
and still be wrong. Because it feels good or sounds right doesn't mean
it's bible truth. Only those who become doers of truth will stand in
the trials we all face from time to time. Some are teaching fables for
truth. (Something made up but not scripture).
All scripture is profitable for the child of God. We dare not pick and
choose what we like and leave the rest out of our walk with the Lord.
Notice what it is profitable for; doctrine (some don't like doctrine)
for reproof (many don't like this) instruction in righteousness (The
do’s and don'ts); also exhortation (strongly urge by words or advice).
We all need the four of these so we don't get into error. All ministers
and teachers should wake up to this. Those who love you will tell you
this.
A minister that is called of God and being obedient will do this;
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke,
exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. Those who have a different
message are not doing what the scripture says. Do the ones you listen
to do this? Is the Minister/Teacher saying you will be blessed whether
you become a doer of truth or not? Do they care about your soul or just
your attendance and participation? Do you desire to have your ears
tickled or hear truth that will stand in any storm? Your answer to
these questions will show where you are spiritually.
Holy Father, I pray that you will
use this message to prick our hearts and wake us all up to what You
desire of us. Stir our hearts to draw closer and closer to You and have
ears to hear what You are saying to us all in this hour. We ask,
believe we receive, and give thanks in Jesus name. Amen.
