The Lord has been dealing with me of late as to why many are not receiving from God, the answer they desire. I believe the answer lies in the above scriptures. Much of the teaching and preaching of today tells us, all we need do is ask and then claim the promise, then we have it. If I went down to a bank and asked to borrow five hundred dollars but left before I received the money, then I really don't have it. If I went to buy something with the money, I couldn't. So, if we come to God and ask for something and leave without receiving, what have we done? If we really believed we would receive, why didn't we stay till we received?

We have been taught and believed we will receive just by mouthing a few words and then going our way. Where is the hunger and thirsting in this kind of approach? Where is the seeking with our whole hearts? When we get like the deer who has run till he can't run and is so thirsty he must have water, then are we getting to the point of receiving an answer. I am not saying God will not answer a quick prayer, He has many times for me. What I am saying is that short prayer was preceded by many other prayers seeking His face for, not only needs to be met but also for fellowship with My Father in Heaven.

What is seeking Him with our whole heart? I believe it can be summed up in this, it's when we desire Him more than we desire air to breath; when we must have an answer or we perish. Then will He become the center (this is why this site is named Christ Centered) of everything in our life and then will He manifest Himself to us and fellowship with us. We will sup with Him and Him with us. He becomes our life, our strength and our Lord.
