Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Arise
- Get up, get going.
Light
- Visible radiant energy. Lamp. Flame. Truth. Set fire to.
Shine
- Emit or reflect strong light. Gain distinction. Polish to a high gloss.
Glory
- High honor. Splendor or splendid feature. Take pride.
The above definitions I got from a regular Webster's dictionary. I didn't use a Bible dictionary.
The devil would have us all to sit around feeling down and defeated in life. He will tell us that we will never amount to anything and we might as well not try. He always offers us an excuse as to why we can't do something. He always reminds us of how we failed before and we will fail again. He knows that if we, as Christians, ever get hold of who we are in Christ and what we have going for us we will tear his kingdom up. Jesus already defeated him and made a show of him openly, for all to see.
Before we can do anything, in the kingdom of God, or anything else for that matter; we must arise. Get up and get going! First we must learn to think right. Find out what the Word of God says we are and believe it. Start being a doer of what God says. God plainly tells us in His word he will not bless lazy folks. He even says, if one won't work don't let him eat. Get up and get going after what you want in this life. God will bless your effort and become your strength, if what you desire is according to His word.
Jesus Christ is our light, radiant energy, His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Walk in truth and walk in victory. If God's word tells us something is ours, reach for it and refuse to be denied. God is not withholding it from you. Satan through doubt and unbelief is our adversary. Defeat that in Jesus' name. Refuse to be defeated. The truth will set us free and set on fire of the Holy Spirit, those who believe and will burn away doubt and unbelief.
Our works, our deeds, is the way to let our light shine. Remember it's Jesus in us that is our light, let Him shine through our life in all we do and say. It will cause us to gain distinction in the work place and where ever we are. That light, that word will polish us and those that are around us. Let the light and the Word do its work in and through us.
As we do these things the glory of the Lord will arise and be upon us. If He be for us who can be against us and prevail? Instead of living a defeated life we will began to take pride in who we are and what we are because Christ is in us. In Christ we live and move and have our very being, we are more than an overcomer. Praise God!
First, you must be in Christ, next arise, get up and get going! Began to let your light shine in all you do. Began to take pride in who you are in Christ. He is your life. Quit putting yourself down. When you do you are putting down the Lord's workmanship in you. He desires to put high honor on you, believe it and began to work and live accordingly, being obedient to all He says for you and about you. The glory of the Lord is risen upon you, now.
