What do You Believe?
Gal 5:18-21 But if ye be led of
the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are
manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have
also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God.
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth
to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his
righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God;
This message is to those that believe the statement that, “We are all
just sinners saved by grace.” Notice it doesn't say we were sinners
that are saved by grace. If you believe the first statement I ask this
question; which sin is all right to continue in? What about adultery,
fornication, telling lies, anger, malice, hatred, wrath, strife,
Idolatry, witchcraft? Are we going to allow heresies, Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings, etc.? Where are we going to draw the
line?
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
James 1:14-16 But every man is
tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when
lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is
finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Notice Paul, the preacher of grace, said by the Holy Ghost that none of
those who do these things would inherit the kingdom of God. If Paul
didn't draw the line at any of these sins what are we doing when we say
any of these sins are OK with God? Beloved, the truth of the word
of God declares that the wages of sin are death. Keep doing any of
these and there is a payday coming someday and the payment will be
death. Beloved the dead can not die. Only the living can die, those who
have passed from death to life in Jesus Christ are alive; so only those
can die. We are not talking about a salvation by our works, we are
talking about being born of the Spirit of God and being led by that
Spirit instead of doing the works of our flesh. Doing the works of the
flesh brings forth death; being led of the Spirit is life everlasting.
Some teach that once you have made a profession of faith, no sin will
keep you from going to heaven. These teach you have eternal life even
if you go back into sin. Because of this teaching some who profess to
be Christians are living with someone they are not married to. Some get
drunk, tell lies, steal, commit all kind of sin and believe they will
inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:18-21 says they will not. Which do
you believe? I choose to believe the scriptures.
Rom 6:1-2 What shall we say then?
Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How
shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
2 Cor 6:16-18 And what
agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of
the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in
them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Cor 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us
cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Many are taught and believe that since we are under grace and not the
law sin is not possible today. All the above scriptures are from the
New Testament. Again we must choose, are we going to believe scripture
or those who tickle our ears? Are we doing what 2 Cor 7:1 says?
Gal 6:7-9 Be not deceived; God is
not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For
he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he
that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not.
Do we desire to reap everlasting life or not? We must make a choice,
are we going to walk after the desires of our flesh and reap corruption
(death) or sow to the Spirit and reap everlasting life. It is a matter
of sowing and reaping. God is not mocked; we will all reap what we sow.
It is not a one time and it's done thing but rather an ongoing life
style. The ones who reap eternal life are those who continue, faint
not, till this life is over. Many seem to think that because they don't
get zapped when they commit sin it must be all right with God. Not so,
God is merciful not willing that any should perish. He gives time to
repent so He will not have to punish us. He always warns before He
punishes. Are you listening?
Hear what the Holy Ghost says in these scriptures.
2 Pet 2:17-22 These are wells
without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist
of darkness is reserved for ever.
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through
the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean
escaped from them who live in error.
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of
corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in
bondage. For if after they
have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and
overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of
righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy
commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is
turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her
wallowing in the mire.
Ezek 3:18-21 When I say unto the
wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor
speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the
same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require
at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his
wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but
thou hast delivered thy soul. Again, When a righteous man doth turn
from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock
before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he
shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall
not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin
not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned;
also thou hast delivered thy soul.
2 Tim 3:16-17 All scripture is
given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man
of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Tim 4:1-2 I charge thee
therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the
quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word;
be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
longsuffering and doctrine.
Every minister of the Lord is required to warn those who will listen by
telling them what the Spirit of God says. Where souls spend eternity
depends on it. If any of the above sins are in your life, repent, ask
the Lord to forgive you and cleanse you of all sin. He will, if you
mean it with your whole heart.
