Tares and Wheat
Mt
13:24-30 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of
heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat,
and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth
fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder
came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field?
from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done
this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather
them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root
up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest:
and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye
together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but
gather the wheat into my barn.
As I search the
Internet, I visit many Christian sites. Some do very little teaching of
the Gospel. Many of these seem to think they are called to knock other
ministries and most of what they write does just that. Some of what
they write is not documented proof. Just what someone said they said!
If they knew exactly what was said they would have had to be in the
meeting themselves. If they know and were in the meeting; why were they
there? Did they go to be part of it or just to knock what was said or
done?
Some are wrong in
what they teach, but is it our place to tell everyone else they are
wrong? Maybe we should go to the person ourselves and try to reason
with them? If they won't listen just let God handle it. There will always be tares, wheat, sheep and goats in the church. In my personal
opinion, a ministry of belittling another ministry is not much of a
ministry. Personally, I have stopped going to these sites and stopped
reading these kind of posts. I also would not attend a church that did
not teach Jesus Christ as The Way, The Truth and The Life. I go to the
house of God to worship Him and hear the truth that will deliver and
set free. I don't want
to be entertained or pacified.
In
our anxiety to
correct wrongs and doing that before all is a good way to cause young
Christians to get disillusioned and give up. We can get into fussing,
auguring and fighting among ourselves. We uproot the good along
with the bad. Jesus said, “Don't do this”. Why don't we just teach and
preach the Gospel and let the Lord give the increase?
Here is what Paul said about the different kind of preaching. Phil
1:15-18 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some
also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely,
supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing
that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then?
notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is
preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. Maybe this should be our attitude toward those who preach and teach Jesus Christ different to us?
I wonder if God
said to one today something like this, what would these say about the
one who did it? Would they believe it was of God?
Ezek
4:9-15 Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and
lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make
thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt
lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat
thereof. And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight,
twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it. Thou shalt
drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to
time shalt thou drink. And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou
shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight. And the
LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled
bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them. Then said I, Ah
Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up
even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is
torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth. Then
he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and
thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.
I suppose the
question is how do we know what God has spoken to another of His
servants? Many of today would have thought Ezekiel was not of God!

John 2:9-11 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother,
is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in
the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that
hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth
not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
I wonder, is it
love to put down another ministry before all? As I was growing up, if
my brother did something wrong and I tried to get him for it, my daddy
got me also! If I just told him and let him handle it; it was OK. I
believe that would be good advice for us all.
Isa
58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry,
and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee
the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
If we desire the
Lord to answer our prayers, we should stop pointing our finger at
others. Let's get the beam out of our own eye before we try to get a
speck out of the eye of another.
I can't speak for
everyone else. But for myself, I desire to minister what God has given
me and not try to build on the ministry of another or try to belittle
the ministry of another. We will all stand before God Almighty one day
and He will take care of separating the tares from the wheat. That is
not my job, or anyone else's, it's His.
Lord
God, help us to do what You command us to do and not try to handle what
You have called another to do. May the Holy Spirit guide and direct us
in all we do. We ask In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
