The Word of Their Testimony
Rev 12:11  And they overcame him (satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

There are three things mentioned here that is required of an overcomer.
1. The blood of the Lamb.
2. The word of their testimony.
3. Loved not their own lives unto death.
I would like to minister on these, one at a time, in maybe three lessons.
I have already ministered on The Blood of the Lamb. Please read it first because without the blood nothing would be possible. Now I want to minister on, The word of their testimony.

We are not talking about how we came to the Lord and all the details concerning that. Here we are talking about what we are testifying to concerning the finished work of Jesus Christ. What are we saying to those things that come against us? We all have trials, storms of life, and temptations come to us. We are being tested concerning our faith in Jesus Christ. The question is what are we going to say to those things that come against us. What is our testimony?

James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Let’s say satan comes against us and says, “I am going to kill you.” Let’s say right back to Him, “How are you going to kill one that has everlasting life?” That is our testimony and it agrees with the word of God. Now he must flee, we have submitted to the Word of God concerning us and satan must flee, because it is written! Notice we, not God, must resist the devil.

1 John 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

What does it mean, "to walk in the light?” The word of God always explains it’s self, if we look for the meaning.

Psa 119:105  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

So we see clearly that the light is the Word of God. It follows we must study and let the Holy Spirit lead us into all truth. The truth, The Word of God, is what sets us free. Remember Jesus is the Word made flesh. When we submit to the Word of God we are submitting to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The Word of God becomes the weapon with which we overcome satan.

2 Cor 5:21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Satan comes and says, “you are never going to make it to heaven, you are a sinner.” Now it’s your turn to talk. What is your testimony, are you going to agree with God or satan? Your answer should be, "I am the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. He is doing His work in me and is doing it well." Satan is always telling us what he thinks. Turn the tables on him and tell him what God says. This is the way Jesus put him on the run and it will work for us.

Heb 3:18-19  And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Here we see just how important it is to agree with God. This is speaking of Israel in the wilderness. God gave them the promise land full of cities and vineyards. When they looked over the land the majority came back saying it was just as God said, but we are not strong enough to take it. Two others said, "it’s just like God said let’s go at once and take it". (The majority is not always right.) Only the two who believed God went in and received their promise. Are we going to believe God, enter into His rest and receive His promises or are we going to look at our ability instead of God's ability to do what He says? One of the worst sins we can have is unbelief. Please note, they had to go and take the promises by faith; so do we.

Amos 3:3  Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

How can we walk with God if we don't agree with what His Word says about us?

Heb 10:19  Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Satan comes to our mind and says, “you might as well stop praying, God won't hear your prayers.” Tell him, “yes He will, the blood of Jesus has given me entrance into the throne room of God.”

Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We all were carnal minded and walked according to the desires of our flesh before receiving Christ. Now we are commanded to get a renewed mind. The renewed mind doesn't think the way the world thinks. The renewed mind is spiritual and counts things that can't be seen as though they were. The renewed mind believes and trusts God to do what His Word says.

A few years back Datha, my wife, was in the hospital for an operation. During the operation she had a stroke and couldn't move down her left side. The Doctor called me outside the room and we set down at a table. He said “We may just be looking at the start of this and it may get much worse and be permanent.” I said Doctor, “I don't know what is going to happen in between but the end results will be great.” He began to tell me, "but you don't understand.” He was the one who didn't understand. He was looking at the physical and I was looking at the spiritual. The Word of God says all things work together for good to those that love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose. Datha came out of the hospital with no permanent effects from the stroke. Praise God, He did it again!

If we are going to overcome satan in our life we must believe God and not the lies and half truths that come against us, no matter who they come through.

1 John 4:17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Do you believe that scripture? As He is, so are we in this world. Not going to be one day, but now in this world. When something comes to us maybe fear, anxiety, disease, sickness, temptation, etc. let's check out how Jesus is. The scripture tells us how He is, and if that is not the way He is, then it didn't come from God. If it didn't come from God then it came from satan. We must resist satan, that is our responsibility, not God's. We must fight the fight of faith. God has given satan orders that if we resist him he must flee from us. Submit to God, believe His Word, and resist satan he must flee.

Most, if not all Christians, will tell you they believe all the word of God. When a storm, trial, or temptation comes against them some seem to forget they believe God and start talking and acting in defeat. A person in the army who did this would be ushered out. We are in God’s army why should we give in to the adversary in defeat. Let’s get our testimony in line with God’s Word and put our adversary to flight. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are mighty and will pull down every strong hold of the adversary. (2 Cor 10:4)  We must get The Word in our mind and in our mouth. When satan comes with his lie, shine the truth on him and watch him flee. It's time for God's children to talk back to satan. What is the word of your testimony?
